Our
Father God created the family in Genesis. It was God's
design for a man to leave his father and mother and to be
joined to his wife. God said "Be fruitful and multiply
and fill the earth and subdue it." From the very
beginning of time it was by God's design that the family
would be the basic social unit that He would use to fulfill
His purpose on the earth.
We are a group of people who are
joined together in Christ Jesus. We are commissioned to love God and to
love people. We feel that there are two understandings of family that
are very important.
- Family - a group of persons related
by marriage and blood ties and generally living together in the same
household. (Illustrated Bible Dictionary)
It is not hard to see in our society
today that there is an attach on the family. We want to reach out to
people and encourage family values by providing a healthy biblical
understanding of family.
- Family of God - a term used
primarily in the New Testament to describe the people of God.
God is a Father, and as a Father His
desire is to have a family. Abba Father is a term used in the New
Testament to express love and intelligent confidence of a child. We want
to encourage one another to a greater understanding of God as our
Heavenly Father. We also want to learn to walk together in greater
freedom as the family of God.
We are committed to helping and
encouraging both our individual families and the corporate family of
God.
